Taking a brief hiatus from the Coliseum Home Video collection, we’re going to recap a special WWE program. The WWE March Madness 2012 Tournament that aired on WWE On Demand. This is basically the WWE’s attempt to do the NCAA March Madness tournament. I have no idea of the matches, so it’s all going to be a surprise, but I have a bad feeling the final match will be Undertaker versus Shawn Michaels, I hope I’m wrong. Hopefully we get some good solid matches and no garbage. Let’s get underway.

Here we go with the final PPV for the WWE of 2011, TLC. Before we get going on the PPV, I want to mention one thing I found out from this week’s Superstars. The mystery man who accompanied Hunico to the ring on the bicycle was none other then the son of former WWE star Haku, which is cool, as I always liked Haku, As of now there has been no announcement of any John Cena involvement, which makes me happy. The Ziggler/Ryder match should be the match of the night, while Nash/HHH will be the worst of the night. I assume we will get at least one more match added to the PPV tonight, as we have no diva match or tag title match. They wasted the tag title match on the under-appreciated Superstars this week, where Air Boom lost to the new Mexicools. The RAW title match between Miz, ADR and Punk probably won’t be very good, I don’t expect ADR to win as they seem to have lost interest in him. The other title match with Henry and Show is going to be boring as well, we’ve seen this match enough times, it needs to end tonight, and move Henry into another feud leading into the Royal Rumble. Booker and Cody should be a good match, as it looks like Booker is pretty intent on bringing it tonight, however I don’t expect him to win the title. Cody should retain the gold and they can maybe resume the storyline between him and DiBiase, since DiBiase is highly underused right now. I still expect Chris Jericho to return on the first episode of the new year, and hopefully we get a feud between him and Punk, as the promos alone would be fantastic and a main event match between them at Wrestlemania would be awesome. However before we get to Wrestlemania, and even the Rumble, we need to get through TLC. Continue reading

Now for something completely different, this was a special PPV that aired last weekend. The ad showed Kevin Nash, the Rock and Roll Express, Terry Funk and others. I love watching nostalgia style PPV as they are usually so much fun. The 605 Reunion PPV was fun to watch, and I’m in the minority but I enjoyed the Heroes of Wrestling PPV. Of course these are all the old school guys I grew up watching. Makes me wonder in twenty five years or so, will we have these kind of shows with Randy Orton, John Cena and Kelly Kelly, doubt it. Anyways, I’ve been looking forward to this show all week, so let’s get down to ringside. Continue reading

Well, I didn’t find a good quality version of the PPV, but at least it’s a copy of it. Tonight TNA presents Lockdown, with every match in the cage, including the X, Knockout, Knockout Tag and the World Title on the line. This should be a great show, and I’m curious what they do with the X title match, as Doug Williams is, much like the WWE RAW roster, stranded in Europe tonight. So let’s get to the show and see what happens. Continue reading

Last week on Impact we saw one of the dumbest ways to change a title since WCW did the 49’ers match years ago. We had eight girls in an elimination match, where the winner of each fall got a key to a lockbox. The four locked boxes contained an open contract, Poison the Tarantula, the Knockout Title, and being forced to do a striptease. Well, Tara lost her title but regained Poison, Velvet won the open contract, Daffney was to do a striptease and Angelina won the title. So, basically Tara gave up her title for her spider and Angelina wins a title by doing nothing. Way to devalue the title TNA, that title is almost as important as the WWF European title was. Daffney reluctantly started her striptease but unfortunately she was attacked by Lacey Von Erich who proceeded to disrobe. Angelina and Tara fought over the title as Velvet cashed in her contract and will face Angelina tonight, in a non title match. I’ll give TNA credit for giving the ladies so much time, about as much time as the WWE has given the divas all year combined, but this was a dumb way to change titles. After the ratings were broken down it showed the girls got the highest rated segments, which of course will mean we’re going to have more of the girls now. Not that I’m complaining about that, but I wish Daffney would’ve won the title, as I assume her feud with Tara is over. Also last week the nWo attacked Team 3D and the Motor City Machine Guns, ruining what was starting out as a good match. We also saw Ken Anderson beat Kurt Angle in a ladder match to gain control of the key which opens the lock of the cage door at Lockdown. Last week I said I hope the feud finally ends at Lockdown, and that’s not because I prefer the instant-feuds of the WWE. I enjoyed the long feud between Dreamer and Raven in ECW, but they kept it fresh by involving other people and it just didn’t feel like it dragged on, which Angle and Anderson’s feud is feeling like. I’ve always been a huge fan on Angle and always thought Anderson was going to be huge in WWE if he could’ve stayed injury free, they just need to spice up the feud with something. Anyways, let’s get down to the Impact Zone for this week’s Impact. Continue reading

I must say I’m very interested in tonight’s episode of Impact; I’m looking forward to the First Blood match with Daffney and Tara. It should be a very good match, as well as the nWo facing Hardy, Van Dam & Eric Young. That’s just as long as X-Pac does the majority of the match for his team. With that, let’s get to Impact.

Tonight TNA presents their third PPV of the year, Destination X. Other than one match this looks like it’s going to be a great show. I honestly am more interested in this PPV than I am in Wrestlemania, as we have some great matches tonight. The ladder match should be amazing, and might be better than the MITB will be. Nine or ten guys in a match is going to make it to chaotic, at least tonight it’s only four men. The Ultimate X tag match should be a great match, as well as Williams and Moore. I don’t agree with Shannon Moore getting the title shot right out of the gate, but he should be able to pull a good match out of the rapidly improving Doug Williams. The tag title match is sort of an obvious win for Beer Money as it looks like they are turning Matt Morgan heel and I expect he will turn on Hernandez tonight. The match I am most interested in is Daffney getting a title shot against Tara, which should be great to see. I’m a huge fan of Daffney, and I think she deserves a title reign, just as long as it’s not a short one night one. I’d like to see it go to a feud between Daffney and Angelina, and they have a nice long feud over the summer. AJ & Abyss is another obvious match, but they may shock us, I really don’t expect Styles to drop the title that quickly after winning it. They should still put on a good match as both guys know each other well enough to know what works in a match, and both are willing to take big bumps for each other. The only match of the night I don’t care about is the nWo crap, which is going to be a waste of time. I assume Nash will turn on Eric Young and it was all a set up to get Hall and Waltman contracts, thus leading to a feud with Hogan. The only good that could come from this is maybe Eric Young getting pushed to the main event in this feud. Maybe next month we get a six man tag with Nash, Hall & Waltman versus Young, Angle and someone, hopefully not Hogan. Maybe Jeff Hardy, even add in Sting on Nash’s team and RVD on Angle’s team and make it a War Games match? That might be interesting, if they go that route. Well, with all the speculation out of the way, let’s get to the Impact Zone for Destination X.
