Extreme Rules 2012 – April 29, 2012

Tonight we have Extreme Rules, aka Rematch-a-mania, as all but one announced match (Cena/Brock) are rematches from Wrestlemania. We have Jericho/Punk, DB/Sheamus, Show/Cody and Orton/Kane announced, all rematches from Wrestlemania. The only odd man out is the Brock versus Cena match, which is basically just Rock/Cena with a tweak. Invader comes in to company, Cena says he’s always here, leads to the match. The only way this match should end is with Brock destroying Cena, completely dismantling him. This should lead to Cena disappearing for quite a while, while Brock destroys everyone placed in front of him. Have Brock tear apart Sheamus at next PPV to win the Smackdown belt, then at Summerslam he beats Punk to unify the titles. They can call it the Ultimate Championship to play on his UFC career. Along the way Brock defeats Orton, Kane, Bryan, leading to a win at Survivor Series where Brock says he’s beaten everyone, and this brings out the Rock. We get Rock/Brock for Royal Rumble, which Brock ultimately win, however John Cena finally returns to win the Rumble and the rematch is set for Wrestlemania. Cena finally defeats Brock at Wrestlemania, and Brock leaves the WWE. Would be the best way to utilize Brock over the next 12 months, and finally unify the two world titles. I’m expecting a pretty good match, and good PPV so let’s hope we get a RAW quality show and not a Smackdown quality show tonight. Continue reading

WWE Smackdown – April 27, 2012

No idea why the last post had that weird first line, but if I delete it for some reason it changes the spacing of the whole page. For some reason Blogilo doesn’t seem to want to do the spacing right either anymore, so I’m typing the blog in ScribeFire. Hopefully I’ll figure out a better way sooner or later, but for now this will have to do.Anyways, it’s time for Smackdown this week, only two days before Extreme Rules, also known as Rematch-a-Mania. Seriously, we have one match that’s not a rematch from Wrestlemania so far and that’s Brock/Cena, which is just a rehash of Rock/Cena. The PPV has been built up good, but so many rematches makes me wonder why anyone paid for Wrestlemania when you can see the same matches four weeks later cheaper? Anyways, let’s get to Smackdown and hopefully we get a good episode after a streak of bad ones.

WWE Smackdown – April 20, 2012

With Extreme Rules only 9 days away, tonight we have Smackdown. Last week’s Smackdown which showed so much promise, instead wound up one of the worst shows ever, meanwhile RAW this week was impressive. So, will Smackdown be a flop or a success, let’s find out. Continue reading

WWE Monday Night RAW – April 16, 2012

Tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW comes to us from Jolly Old London, England and our main event is CM Punk defending against Mark Henry for the third straight week. Two weeks ago Henry won via countout and last week was a DQ win for the man formerly known as Sexual Chocolate. Tonight there has to be a winner, and I assume it won’t be Henry. Before we get to RAW, I just want to touch on the TNA PPV from last night. Contrary to what a lot of people are saying I think it was a pretty good show, other then two matches (Robbie/Devon & Knockout Tag). The Lethal Lockdown did not have a major spot this year, which is fine, it doesn’t need one every year and the main event was great. A lot of people are ripping on the main event for having Storm lose in his hometown, which way not have been a great idea but it will continue the feud. The finish was different, and something not seen in a long time as Storm superkicked Roode through the cage door, thus giving Roode the win. All in all it was a fun PPV and worth the three hours, which is more then I can say for Wrestlemania this year. With that said, let’s start this week’s RAW. Continue reading

WWE Smackdown – April 10, 2012

We have a special edition of Smackdown this week, since the WWE Wrestlers are headed overseas. There is a number of legends scheduled to make appearances tonight, so that should make for a fun show. Hopefully better then the trainwreck that was Raw this week. So without further ado, let’s head to the arena for a live Smackdown.

We open with the same promo from RAW showing all the legends scheduled to be on the show, best of all is Roddy Piper. Wish they had Michael Hayes on here too, and put Gene on commentary. First thing we get on the live show is a recap of AJ being kicked to the curb by DB, and tonight DB is on the Piper’s Pit, that is awesome! Piper’s Pit should be a permanent thing on Smackdown, as Lillian introduced the great Mene Gene, did he ever have hair??? Continue reading

WWE Smackdown – April 6, 2012

After the shocking return of Brock Lesnar on Monday Night, we move forward to Smackdown as we continue to build towards the next PPV, Extreme Rules. Tonight is the second night of “People Power”, another lame catchphrase the WWE thinks will attract attention. Much like their constant talking about Twitter, which is pathetic. How much money do they get for being a trending topic anyway? Let’s see if we at least get a good match tonight on Smackdown. Continue reading

Wrestlemania XXVIII – April 1, 2012

It’s that time of the year for Wrestlemania, so I thought I’d join the hundreds of other who do a recap of the show. Wasn’t a lot I was looking forward to on this show, but the atmosphere always makes up for the poor product. The whole PPV has basically been built around Rock/Cena and HHH/Undertaker with a little emphasis on Teddy/JL, everything has been treated like an afterthought. I’m not going to do a play by play recap of each match, just a little thought on each. After the long recap of the March Madness tournament, a shorter recap seems like a good idea. With that, let’s get to the show. Continue reading
