WWF 1981 Year in Review

As we close out 1981, we will take a look back at all the great action we have seen this year. When we started the year all we had was WWF All Star Wrestling, but as the year continued we added in Mid-Atlantic Wrestling and Mid-South Wrestling. This brought us a large influx of new talent, like Jake Roberts, Ricky Steamboat, Junkyard Dog, Ted DiBiase and many more. We only had two shows from MSG, so lots of squash matches again this year, as was the norm in the eighties. However we did have some great matches, and some guys had fantastic years. Read More »

WWF All Star Wrestling – December 26, 1981

This is the final episode of All Star for 1981, as we close out what’s been an exciting year of WWF action. Last week we had a couple good tag matches plus Ventura versus Hennig. This week Tony Atlas faces Hans Schroeder in our main event. Let’s go to the ring.

WWF All Star Wrestling – December 19, 1981

With only two more episodes left for 1981, we’re closing in on the end of the year, but with the addition of Mid-Atlantic, Mid-South and soon World Class we’ll have lots of wrestling. Even though we lose the WWF shows come February and nothing WWF for over two years, at least the other territories are fantastic. Last week on All Star we started a feud between Greg Valentine and Pedro Morales over the Intercontinental Championship, plus SD Jones scored a win over Baron Mikel by countout. WWF All Star Wrestling – October 10, 1981

The previous week’s episode is another lost episode, which featured wins from Mil Mascaras, Pedro Morales, Angelo Mosca, Killer Khan, Don Muraco and Fuji and Saito. Muraco won a handicap match, as those return again, they were big on those back then. WWF All Star Wrestling – August 8, 1981

Previously on All Star Wrestling, the Intercontinental Champion Don Muraco defeated Curt Hennig in our main event. We also saw the debut of Captain Lou Albano’s newest tag team, Mr Fuji and Mr Saito. Last week we saw the WWF Tag Team Championship change hands as Rick Martel & Tony Garea regained the gold from the Moondogs. It seemed like from the commentary that they wrote off the Moondogs after that. So, who will be the first challengers for the new champions?
