The Best of series continues as we hit number nine. This is one comes in a very bright yellow box with the Junkyard Dog on the cover. Advertised matches include a six man tag, a battle royal, midget madness, a boot camp match and Ricky Steamboat versus Randy Savage which should be amazing. This looks like it’s going to be one of the best in the series so far with those matches, well other then the midget match. So let’s not waste time and let’s get this show rolling.
The usual opener rolls and we are welcomed by Gorilla Monsoon and Johnny V who hype up the tape and Johnny makes some bad jokes. Gorilla goes over the card for the show, and once again I’m impressed with the lineup. They go over the rules of the Boot Camp match and Gorilla makes fun of Johnny being in the battle royal. We head to the ring for the opening contest. Continue reading

The next tape in the Coliseum Home Video collection is Villains of the Squared Circle as we head into 1986. The box is pale blue and says “they live by the motto…rules are for breaking” and features Randy Savage, Roddy Piper and King Kong Bundy. There are no matches listed on the box so I guess we are going to have to be surprised by whatever we get.
Following the usual opening video we’re welcomes by Mene Gene who talks about some of the previous video releases. Gene says he wasn’t sure he could be objective, so they got him a guest host and it’s Bobby Heenan. This tape just went up a hundred percent as Heenan comes out with Big John Studd and King Kong Bundy. Studd says he’s not a villain he’s an aggressive wrestler and Bundy says they’re winners. Gene gets himself in trouble with Bundy and Studd and quickly tosses his it our opening match. Continue reading

Our next video in the Coliseum Home Video Collection is the first ever WWF PPV, the Wrestling Classic. This was a big tournament that took place in Chicago, Illinois and also featured a World Title defense from Hulk Hogan. It’s the only WWF PPV to feature Roddy Piper versus Hulk Hogan, which is surprising considering what a huge feud they had. This is one of my favorite shows, let’s hope it holds up. Continue reading
