WWE Superstars – February 11, 2010

It’s time for another episode of WWE Superstars, and tonight’s main event will feature JTG v. Dolph Ziggler. Well, that sounds like a great main event. No, not really, I can’t stand Cryme Tyme and have no interest in seeing them wrestle. Also tonight is Santino v. Jack Swagger, which should be a good match, so let’s get to it.

1. Santino v Jack Swagger. Santino has the mic and says Swagger jumped him from behind and tried to put him out of action and took him out of the Rumble. Santino says he’s going to teach him a lesson so good, he’ll call him professor. A quick lockup and Swagger with a side headlock, but Santino tries to power out and Swagger clamps on. Santino whips him in, and Swagger comes back with a shoulderblock and then does pushups, Santino yells at him not to do it again. Swagger with a side headlock takedown now, Santino powers back up and powers out and reverses the move. Swagger misses a clothesline and Santino nails a nice dropkick sending Swagger to the outside and Santino does pushups. This angers Swagger who runs in and gets caught in an armbar, but Swagger punches Santino in the face and stomps Santino. Swagger with the advantage as the announcers ignore the match and start talking about next week’s RAW, focus monkeys. Swagger hits the Vader Bomb for a near fall, and then unloads on Santino in the corner. Santino pulls himself up and Swagger rams him into the buckle, on the third one Santino starts to Hulk Up. Swagger ducks a punch and opens up on Swagger now, the does the splits to avoid the clothesline. Santino with a hiptoss and follows with the falling headbutt for a near fall. Santino loads the cobras but Swagger ducks and hits a short arm clothesline. Swagger nails the Gut Wrench Powerbomb for the win. 3/5 this was a fun little match, but nothing to write home about. Santino’s always good for a laugh and Swagger should be the future of the business.

2. Zack Ryder v Christian. Rosa looking great as usual as she comes out with Zack. Wonder if Christian will ever get elevated or just more shuffling around in the midcard. We start with a lockup and Ryder overpowers Christian to the corner, and shoves him in the corner. Christian with a slap and Ryder runs into a rollup. Christian with a side headlock and Zack counter with a belly to back Suplex as Rosa cheers him on. Zack comes off the ropes and Christian leapfrogs then a flapjack gets a near fall. Christian clotheslines Zack to the apron, and then dropkicks him to the floor. Christian goes for the dive but Zack moves and Christian puts the breaks on, Zack decides to leave and Christian catches him and puts him on the apron. As Christian climbs on the apron Zack hits DDT as we go to commercial. We come back and Zack with a rear chinlock and knee to the back, as Christian tries to power out. Zack drops a leg and gets a near fall, as Rosa screams it was three. Christian kicks Zack back, and goes for the springboard sunset flip, but Ryder catches him and hotshots Christian on the bottom rope. Zack climbs the ropes and dives, but Zack gets the boots up and both men are down. Christian ducks under a swing, and fires three of his own, then the standing rope choke. Christian slaps Ryder again and hits the missile dropkick for a near fall, as Rosa is panicking. Zack goes for the Rough Ryder, but Christian counters to the D-Lo Brown finisher for a near fall. Zack rolls to the apron and tries to Suplex Christian out, but Christian blocks and flips Ryder in and climbs the ropes. Christian missing a cross body and Ryder nails the Rough Ryder for the near fall and Rosa is pissed at ringside. Zack lifts him up and Christian goes for the Killswitch, reversed to a schoolboy for a near fall. Christian hits the bouncy kick, then the flying forearm. Christian follows up with the Killswitch for the win. 3.5/5 this was a very competitive and exciting match. Ryder is another future star as he just improves constantly and Christian is always exciting to watch.

3. Dolph Ziggler v JTG. Dolph quickly bails out as JTG goes at him, and Dolph back in and slams JTG down but JTG kicks Dolph back and slams him, but now Dolph kicks JTG. Dolph escapes to the apron, angering JTG, then comes back in and puts a side headlock on JTG. JTG whips him off and hits the spinning forearm, and Dolph slides back to the apron again. Dolph slowly gets back in the ring and challenges JTG to a test of strength and when he goes for it Dolph unloads on him. Dolph whips JTG in and nails a back elbow, then slaps JTG who tries to fight back but gets hammered down. JTG reverses a whip in and nails a flapjack then the diving lariat sending Dolph to the floor as we go to commercial. We come back and Dolph has a camel clutch on JTG, and then moves to a rear chinlock now. JTG fights out but Dolph pulls him down by the hair, then stomps the head of JTG and follows with a series of elbow drops. Dolph stands over JTG and drops the big elbow for a near fall, as JTG is in a lot of trouble here. Dolph goes back to rear chinlock again, but JTH fights out, but misses the punch and Dolph hits the Rocker Dropper for a near fall. Dolph snapmares JTG down and a vintage Mr. Perfect jumping neck snap for another near fall. Ziggler goes back to the rear chinlock and wears JTG to the mat, but JTG powers back up and fights out, but Dolph sends him to the corner. Ziggler misses the Stinger Splash, and JTG hits the Box Cutter as both men are down now. Both men pull themselves up and we have a slugfest now, as JTG has the advantage and hits the diving lariat followed by the dropkick as he fires himself up. JTG hits the Mug Shot and gets a near fall, as Ziggler able to kick out. JTG goes for a belly to back, but Dolph goes up and over and rolls up JTG with a handful of tights for a near fall. JTG kicks Ziggler and climbs to the second rope and drops a leg and goes for the pin, but Dolph gets a foot on the rope. JTG runs at Dolph, but Dolph moves and hits the Zig Zag for the win. 3.5/5 surprisingly a very good match. Ziggler is impressive in the ring and I still think he should be in the Chamber not Mysterio.

Match Recap:

1. Jack Swagger beat Santino 3/5
2. Christian pinned Zack Ryder 3.5/5
3. Dolph Ziggler beat JTG 3.5/5

This was another great episode of WWE Superstars, as they showcased four of their best young talents, an established star and JTG. Why Swagger and Dolph are not champions is beyond me, oh yeah that’s right, Dolph’s not a champ because Mysterio refused to loss at Summerslam. Why these guys get away with their hissy fits is beyond me, which would never work in any other type of job. Anyway, this was a very enjoyable episode, with three fantastic matches. When even JTG has a good match, that’s a good show.
