Week in Review: December 21-25, 2009

Ok, I’m a week late on this, but what can you do right. Anyway there were only the WWE shows for the week, so not a big week of shows. Let’s get right to the top matches of the week.

Top Matches of the Week

1. R-Truth, Matt Hardy, Finlay & John Morrison v. CM Puke, Luke Gallows, Drew McIntyre & Dolph Ziggler from Smackdown 4.25/5
2. D-X v. Hart Dynasty from Smackdown 3.75/5
3. Yoshi Tatsu v. Jack Swagger from ECW 3.75/5
4. Randy Orton & Legacy v. Evan Bourne, Kofi Kingston & Mark Henry from RAW 3.5/5
Worst Matches of the Week

1. Ezekiel Jackson v. Vladimir Kozlov from Superstars DUD
2. Cryme Tyme v. Bryce Andrews & Pat Buck from Smackdown DUD
3. Chris Masters v. Carlito from RAW .75/5

Personally I think Smackdown was the strongest show this week, as the Harts/D-X and the eight man tag were great matches. The week suffered without TNA but they’ll make up for it with this week’s 4 hour show, which I can’t wait to see.

Monday Night RAW averaged a 2/5 for six matches in two hours. At least the D-X crap was kept short, pun intended, but the last two matches were pathetic. The Legacy six man match was the highlight of the week, and hopefully this will lead to the DiBiase/Orton feud we are all waiting on.

ECW on SyFy averaged a 2.5/5 for three matches in an hour. If the Archer/Goldust match was better the rating would’ve been much higher. Yoshi/Swagger was a great match though, both guys can be real main event guys one day, if used right.

WWE Superstars averaged a 2/5 for three matches in an hour. The Jackson/Kozlov match killed the show, however Kane/Knox was once again a great match.

Friday Night Smackdown averaged a 2.75/5 for five matches in two hours. Other then the useless squash match, Smackdown was a great show. The eight man tag match was great and so was D-X/Hart Dynasty.

Overall this was not a bad week, but not great though. We can call it a passable week of wrestling. Looking forward to the Knockout New Years Eve show from TNA, should be great, I hope.

Here’s the eight man tag match, split in two parts. Enjoy
