WWE Superstars – April 1, 2010

I still have Smackdown to watch after this, so let’s not waste any time and let’s get this show on the go.

1. Kofi Kingston & MVP v Zack Ryder & Carlito. Tonight we play make random tag teams and hope for the best, why not. At least Carlito is getting TV time. MVP & Carlito start the match, and MVP goes after Carlito’s rookie. MVP pushes Tarver and Tarver pushes back but MVP then slugs him. MVP slides in as Carlito goes to calm down his rookie who wants in the ring. Carlito finally gets in and they lock up, MVP with the side headlock. Carlito shoots him in, but MVP comes back with a shoulderblock and hiptoss. Carlito backs up as MVP poses, and Tarver giving advice to Carlito? Carlito gets back up and quickly hammers MVP and sends him to the corner, but MVP jumps over and comes back with a clothesline. Zack tagged in and comes in the hard way, as MVP flips him in and hits the shoulderblock. MVP drops the balling elbow on Ryder and waits for him to get up, but Carlito pulls him out. Kofi and MVP hit a double baseball slide as we go to commercial.

WWE NXT – March 2, 2010

Last week we saw the debut of NXT, WWE’s newest version of Tough enough, and this was a very impressive debut. We had three matches to showcase the new rookies, with Daniel Bryan being the standout for the episode. Daniel had a great match with the World Champion Chris Jericho and took him to the limit, only to fall short and then be slapped around again by his mentor Miz. Also last week we see the debut of Otunga, who crushed C.M. Punk’s rookie with ease and a horrible looking spinebuster. What does NXT have in store for us in their second outing? Let’s find out. The Week in Review – March 15 – 19, 2010

Best Match of the Week

1. Christian, Mark Henry & Yoshi Tatsu v. Zack Ryder, Jack Swagger & William Regal from Superstars 9.25/10

Worst Match of the Week

1. Undertaker v. Drew McIntyre from Smackdown DUD

Well, I missed a few weeks of the reviews, but there really hasn’t been much to rave about on the shows. I hate to say it but Superstars and Wrestlicious are quickly becoming the two shows to see each week. I still need to get a chance to watch the NXT shows and recap them, I’ve only watched the first one or two, and liked it. Hopefully this week the recaps of NXT will be done. As for the shows this week, Smackdown was bad, RAW was better than usual, Superstars was phenomenal, Impact was mediocre and Wrestlicious was just plain old fun. Overall Superstars is far and away the best show of the week with three amazing matches. Read more…

WWE Superstars – March 18, 2010

It’s time once again for WWE Superstars, tonight we have diva action as the Bella Twins face off against Jillian & Katie Lea. Thursday’s just don’t seem the same without TNA to be honest, and I hate to say it but I think they were better off on Thursday. Anyway, let’s get to tonight’s episode of Superstars. Read more…

Monday Night RAW – March 8, 2010

The Monday Night Wars are in full effect, as TNA put forth a great show this week.WWE is countering TNA’s debut episode with John Cena facing Vince McMahon. Not sure how they decided this was going to be a good main event, as I don’t think it’ll be better than TNA’s main event. Also tonight we have special guest host Criss Angel, which should be moderately entertaining. At least he’s new and fresh, unlike Cheech and Chong from last week which have not been relevant since the seventies. I wish they’d give up on the guest host idea; it’s been a failure so far with only a few being interesting. Well, let’s see how WWE compared to TNA tonight. Read more…

WWE Superstars – March 4, 2010

After a very impressive second episode of NXT, that brings us to tonight’s episode of WWE Superstars. Tonight’s main event is Chris Jericho v. Goldust, which should be an interesting match. Nice to see the World Champion has now worked both NXT and Superstars, which is better than Batista has done as a Champion. Then again that’s the best part of Superstars is no HHH, Batista, Undertaker, HBK or the rest of the egos. With that, let’s get to the ring for our opening match.

WWE Superstars – February 25, 2010

Before I get to tonight’s Superstars I just want to touch on the newest WWE show, NXT. I didn’t expect much from the show, to be honest, and was pleasantly surprised. It was actually a very good show and had a couple good matches and one squash. We can see in the first episode who’s the breakout stars will be, the one who won his match in seconds and Daniel Bryan. I expect we’re going to build to Bryan v. Miz at Summerslam, but doubt Bryan wins. Michael Cole attacking the internet was the first time he was actually entertaining and glad to see Matt Stryker and Savannah. All in all this was very good first outing, and maybe it will be a good replacement for ECW. Guess we’ll wait and see what the next couple episodes bring. For now, let’s get to Superstars, which looks like it should be a good show.

ECW on SyFy – The End of ECW

ECW on SyFy – February 16, 2010

Tonight marks the death of the WWE’s version of ECW, although the real ECW died nine years ago. Vince McMahon felt compelled to create his own version of ECW and at one time even went so far as to make himself the World Champion. ECW has seen a lot of good and a lot of bad over the years, but personally I always thought ECW was the place to see good wrestling, and it’s sad to see it go. It’s replacement looks like a Tough Enough wannabe, and I won’t be covering that. I might watch the debut, but it really doesn’t seem like a good replacement. I wonder how many ECW stars will be let go over the next little while, and which ones will show up in TNA. Over the years in ECW we’ve had the Boogeyman, The Zombie, Big Daddy V, Sheamus, Zack Ryder, Bobby Lashley, Sabu, Rob Van Dam, and many others come through the doors. Some were successful, some were flops and some blew their opportunity. Tonight on the final ECW we have the tag champions defend the titles as Miz and Big Show face off with Goldust and Yoshi Tatsu. In our main event, Captain Charisma, Christian defends the ECW title against the massive Ezekiel Jackson in a extreme rules match. Those should both be good matches, and this should be a great show, so let’s get to it.

The Week in Review – January 25 – 29, 2010

The Week in Review – January 25 – 29, 2010

After an absolutely horrid week of wrestling last week, all the shows stepped it up this week. There was the usual crap with D-X, but the shows were worlds better this week. Read more…

ECW on SyFy: Two great matches + no crap = great show

ECW on SyFy – January 26, 2010

Tonight the road to the Royal Rumble continues, as we have Christian teaming up with Kane to face William Regal & Ezekiel Jackson. This should be a very interesting tag match. I’m looking forward to Jackson v. Christian at the Royal Rumble. By the way, to know when the newest updates are posted, follow me on Twitter here
