Monday Night RAW – April 23, 2012

<!– @page { margin: 2cm } P { margin-bottom: 0.21cm } –>

With only six days until Extreme Rules, tonight on RAW we have the contract signing between John Cena and Brock Lesnar for their huge main event. Last week on RAW Cena dropped a match to Lord Tensai, surprisingly, which hopefully means a big push for the man formerly known as A-Train. Also last week we had a great promo video of Lesnar, since he didn’t make the trip over to the UK. One thing we have not seen on RAW since Wrestlemania are the divas, which seems really odd. No Kelly Kelly, no Beth Phoenix, only seen Eve in the backstage briefly. Not that I’m complaining, since no one really wants to see KK in a match. The biggest downfall for tonight’s RAW is that it is a three hour show, with no theme, thus no draft, and everyone just came back from an exhausting UK tour. I have a feeling some of them will be dragging pretty bad, and a three hour is usually unbearable as it is. Hopefully Dolph Ziggler can save us all, let’s head to Detroit, home of Wrestlemania III, for this week’s RAW, which will not be as cool as Wrestlemania III.

WWE Monday Night RAW – April 9, 2012

Last week on RAW we had the return of Brock Lesnar, who quickly made an impact by hitting the F5 on John Cena. JL is now officially the GM of both shows and Teddy Long has been demoted to his assistant, and we another return as well. Lord Tensai, formerly A-Train, made his return after many years destroying the human punching bag, Alex Riley. It would’ve been a better return had he had someone with talent, like Kingston. Tonight we will hear from Brock Lesnar and John Cena, I bet Cena still comes out with that goofy grin. With that let’s get it started! Read more…

WWE Smackdown – April 6, 2012

After the shocking return of Brock Lesnar on Monday Night, we move forward to Smackdown as we continue to build towards the next PPV, Extreme Rules. Tonight is the second night of “People Power”, another lame catchphrase the WWE thinks will attract attention. Much like their constant talking about Twitter, which is pathetic. How much money do they get for being a trending topic anyway? Let’s see if we at least get a good match tonight on Smackdown. Read more…

Wrestlemania XXVIII – April 1, 2012

It’s that time of the year for Wrestlemania, so I thought I’d join the hundreds of other who do a recap of the show. Wasn’t a lot I was looking forward to on this show, but the atmosphere always makes up for the poor product. The whole PPV has basically been built around Rock/Cena and HHH/Undertaker with a little emphasis on Teddy/JL, everything has been treated like an afterthought. I’m not going to do a play by play recap of each match, just a little thought on each. After the long recap of the March Madness tournament, a shorter recap seems like a good idea. With that, let’s get to the show. Read more…

WWE Survivor Series 2011 – November 20, 2011

Honestly, with WWE’12 staring me in the face right now, I have even less interest in this show then before. Really there is only two matches I care about, and both involve Dolph Ziggler, so I don’t think is going to be my favorite PPV of the year. I don’t care about either title match nor the “big main event”, don’t like Cena and was never a fan of The Rock, Miz and Truth are just supporting players in this. So, let’s get this over with so I can get back to WWE’12, of course the Wii gets the crippled version as always, no create an arena feature, but at least I can push Dolph and Morrison to the top, where they belong. Can’t wait till I get my PS3 repaired or replaced, so I can get the better version of WWE’12. Read more…

WWE Vengeance – October 23 2011

Here we go with another under hyped PPV, as usual. With all these PPV shows so close together they leave no time to build anything up properly. They basically have made this show a throwaway, as they’re waiting for the Rock for the big build. I don’t know which is worse, making a PPV feel like a waste, or pushing a guy who has been out of the ring for eight years? At least we have a John Cena main event, that never happens! As boring as ADR is, I would rather he retains the gold over another Cena reign. I’d like to see ADR hold the belt till Wrestlemania, give it some much needed stability. The title has changed hands too many times in the last little while, and needs to stay on one guy for a few months. The undercard looks promising though, with two Dolph Ziggler matches, Beth Phoenix defending her title and Sheamus versus Christian. I almost expect an appearance from Shawn Michaels, as he was at Smackdown two weeks ago and tonight we’re in his hometown. At least it’s a few weeks till the next PPV, so they can build the Survivor Series up. Read more…

WWE RAW – October 10, 2011

After last weeks horribly bad episode of RAW, which featured 3 squash matches, one non-match and a very good main event, we ended with one of the oddest angles I’ve ever seen. Basically everyone walked out of RAW, other then the golden children, including Divas, referees and the announcers. Then everyone is on Smackdown, with the lame excuse being HHH is not on Smackdown. So, is HHH the COO of the entire company, or just RAW, if just RAW does that make him the anonymous GM or are we supposed to forget that? This angle has plot holes you could drive the Millennium Falcon through, as last night RAW they said the locker rooms were empty. So are we getting two hours of HHH, Cena and Orton tonight? Or maybe they can pull some legends out for some goofy matches, Sheik, Duggan, Muraco, Slaughter, etc? The biggest problem is that we have a PPV in two weeks, and once again no matches announced as far as RAW goes. That’s the problem with so many PPVs, there is no time to build anything as they have to burn through the story so they can have another PPV. Also next week is the much hyped RAW from Mexico, which means they have to finish this storyline tonight, so ADR can be on the show next week. That was the whole point behind putting the title on ADR. I’m starting to think the WWE is booking on a napkin each week, as the storylines make as much sense as TNA lately. I can’t wait to see how they fix this mess, I expect Vince back ASAP. Let’s see how WWE gets themselves out of this mess, and maybe we can have a match announced for the PPV? Read more…

WWE RAW – October 3, 2011

Coming to us only 24 hours removed from Hell in a Cell, it’s Monday Night RAW. Tonight we have a huge 12 man tag team match, which would be better if it was elimination. Also the fallout from last nights PPV, as we open with Randy Orton coming to the ring. Read more…

WWE Hell In a Cell – October 2, 2011

With only two weeks of buildup from the previous PPV, Night of Champions, tonights show looks like just a series of rematches. I think two weeks just is not enough time to build a PPV. They would’ve been better off canceling this show, and waiting till Vengeance, which is in three weeks. I expect by the end of the show all three golden children of Vince, Cena, Orton and Kelly, will win/retain the gold. Personally they should have kept the belt on CM Punk, instead of switching it to Del Rio so quickly. He was a paper champion, who got no respect or opportunity to do anything with the title. It seems like they put it on him just to move it back to Cena, which did nothing but put us right back where we were before the Cena/Punk storyline. It’s too bad, because the had a chance to do something amazing with the CM Punk saga, and instead they wasted it by adding in HHH and Nash, who should not be on TV at this point in his career, and then made Punk lose to HHH. There is just so many things that the WWE has done wrong recently, but the one thing they were doing right, up until the last Smackdown, was Mark Henry. Unfortunately they blew it on Smackdown by having Orton RKO the champion, which was a huge mistake. The whole story of Henry destroying Orton was working, but then Orton had to get back his heat, aka the fifty-fifty booking that is killing the business. They should have left Henry as the big unstoppable monster, at least till the Rumble, instead of letting Orton hit his finisher so early in the story. It’s too bad we have a PPV and no Ted DiBiase, no Cody Rhodes, Tyson Kidd, Tyler Reks, Kofi Kingston, Evan Bourne, Miz, Truth, etc. Although they may have added Air Boom versus Team Vickie, but it was not announced before the show, so going in we had a huge group of talent left off the show. Anyways, let’s get to the PPV and hope for something good to come from it, like Henry, Beth and Punk walking out with the belts. Read more…

WWE RAW – September 19, 2011

Coming off a surprisingly good PPV, in terms of match quality, with some poor booking decisions it’s time for RAW. I guess we’ll hear from Triple H, who’ll continue to bury CM Punk, and John Cena, who once again miraculously overcame the odds last night to claim his 20th title or so. Does it even matter how many times he wins the belt anymore, seriously, he’s going to wind up in Lawler territory before his career is over. Let’s hope they can do something to salvage CM Punk after the debacle of last night. It’s pretty sad when the only person who truly got over in that match was HHH as he overcame Punk, Truth, Miz and Nash. Maybe we can get a match for tonight of Punk & HHH versus Miz & Truth, but instead it’ll probably be HHH beating both by himself. Well, let’s see what the WWE tries to do this week.
