Friday Night Smackdown: Our Elimination Chamber looks better then RAW’s

Friday Night Smackdown – February 5, 2010

Tonight on Smackdown we should find out who the five men who will go in the Elimination Chamber to face the Champion, Undertaker in less than three weeks. I assume it will be Chris Jericho, Kane, Batista, Mysterio & maybe Punk? At the Royal Rumble Undertaker was able to repel the challenge of Rey Mysterio, but will Mysterio decide he wants a rematch? Also on RAW it was announced that D-X would defend the tag titles against Miz & Big Show and also CM Punk & Luke Gallows in a three way match. How will the Straight Edge Society respond to that? These questions will be resolved tonight on Smackdown. Read more…

WWE Superstars: Six Man Chaos

WWE Superstars – February 4, 2010

With the recent announcement that ECW would be coming to end soon, that begs the question of how many guys will get called up and how gets released? I hate to say it but there are some guys I can see being released including Paul & Katie Burchill, Slam Master J, Jimmy Yang among others. Instead of getting rid of the young talent, why not put some of the older guys out of the active roster? Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Undertaker, Kane and Batista can all be moved to seasonal, where they only wrestle once in a while but not for the title. This would keep some of the young guys, and give new stars a chance to shine. Just saying is all. Anyways, tonight is Superstars, and I have no idea what matches were taped. Maybe we’ll finally see the finals of the Diva tournament, but I doubt it. They’ve probably forgotten about it. Let’s get to the show. Read more…

Royal Rumble 2010: The Rated-R Royal Rumble

Royal Rumble 2010 – January 31, 2010

It’s hard to believe it’s been 22 years since the original Royal Rumble, which was from Hamilton, Ontario and aired on the USA Network not PPV. The Royal Rumble has always been my favorite PPV of the year, even over Wrestlemania, as anything can happen and we usual get some really good moments. Past winners of the Royal Rumble have included Big John Studd, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Chris Benoit, Shawn Michaels, Hulk Hogan and many more. The Royal Rumble used to be anyone can win match, but that was changed in 1993 when it became the winner goes to Wrestlemania. This was supposed to make the match more exciting, but personally that kind of ruined it for me. The reason is simple, before anyone could win; now it’s basically a core group of 5 or 6 that have a chance, and everyone else is basically fodder. The Rumble is not without its history though, as we’ve seen some amazing moments including the title win of Ric Flair, the debut of Giant Gonzales, and the returns of both Triple H and John Cena. Tonight at the Royal Rumble we have not only the 30 man classic, but four big title matches. Mickie James, the hottest diva ever, challenges the fire buzzard for the Women’s title. After months of torment from the buzzard and her little friend, tonight Mickie goes for redemption. The big man, Ezekiel Jackson challenges Captain Charisma Christian, for the ECW title. Can the massive Jackson topple the long reigning king of the land of extreme, or will Zeke fall from grace? Sheamus has run roughshod over the entire RAW roster since coming from ECW in October, and scored a huge win over John Cena for the title. Tonight Sheamus faces his toughest challenge, in the viper Randy Orton, in a rare battle between the two most hated men on RAW. Finally Undertaker faces the human mosquito, Rey Mysterio. Will Rey give the Undertaker malaria, or can the Dead Man squash Mysterio? All this tonight, live from Atlanta, GA! Let’s start the 2010 Royal Rumble! Read more…

The Week in Review – January 25 – 29, 2010

The Week in Review – January 25 – 29, 2010

After an absolutely horrid week of wrestling last week, all the shows stepped it up this week. There was the usual crap with D-X, but the shows were worlds better this week. Read more…

Friday Night Smackdown: A Special Bait and Switch Edition

Friday Night Smackdown – January 29, 2010

Since I haven’t found a copy of last night’s Impact yet, guess I’m watching Smackdown first. So far the WWE has impressed this week with three good shows; let’s see if the momentum can continue on the road to the Royal Rumble, with this being the last stop. Tonight we have D-X facing the Straight Edge Society for the tag titles, which I hope they win, and John Morrison battling the IC Champion, Drew McIntyre. These should both be good matches, and I’m looking forward to both. Never thought I’d be looking forward to a D-X or a Festus match, but there it is. Let’s get to tonight’s Smackdown. Read more…

The Week in Review – January 18 – 22, 2010

The Week in Review – January 18 – 22, 2010

Finally reach the end of one of the worst weeks of wrestling TV ever, as RAW, Smackdown, and Impact were absolutely garbage this week. It’s sad when the two hour long shows are the better shows, what is going wrong with the business? Read more…

Friday Night Smackdown: Must Miss TV

Friday Night Smackdown – January 22, 2010

So far this week, we’ve had a bad RAW, a horrible TNA, a good Superstars and an impressive ECW. Let’s see where Smackdown falls in comparison to the rest of the week’s shows. So far we know Rey Mysterio will face Undertaker at the Royal Rumble, which of the three title matches is the one I least care about. Orton/Sheamus should be ok and Jackson/Christian is the one I’m most looking forward to. I have no idea what matches are scheduled for tonight’s episode, but I did hear someone debuted tonight, so let’s get to the show. Read more…

Week in Review – January 11-15, 2010

Week in Review – January 11-15, 2010

It hasn’t been a very impressive week for the flagship shows for each company, as RAW was absolute garbage and Impact was just too much in one show. RAW is just so mind numbingly boring, while TNA is just the opposite. So much happened in two hours of TNA by the time the show ends, you really don’t remember anything that happened. It just seemed like a major overload of things in one show, while RAW moves so slowly you can skip ten minutes and miss nothing.  Smackdown, ECW and Superstars really delivered with some great stuff this week, saving the week. Friday Night Smackdown – January 15, 2010

Friday Night Smackdown – January 15, 2010

After two weeks of not being able to determine a number one contender, we come to tonight’s episode of Smackdown. With less than two week to the Royal Rumble, will we find out who will face The Undertaker for the World Title? Will it be Rey Mysterio, or will it be Batista? Or, will my prediction from two weeks ago finally be announced, Undertaker v. Rey v. Batista? I’m guessing it will be the latter; as neither of the one on one match ups conveys a main event feel, mind you neither does the triple threat. Why Smackdown cannot promote someone new to the main event is beyond me? I’d rather see Matt Hardy, John Morrison, hell even R-Truth in the main event over Batista or Rey, but that’s not happening so, let’s just get this show over with. Read more…

Friday Night Smackdown: Beat the Clock returns

Friday Night Smackdown – January 1, 2010

Happy New Year readers, as we roll on through this busy week of wrestling. Tonight’s Smackdown is headlined by the Beat the Clock challenge, with the winner facing Undertaker at the Royal Rumble, plus an appearance from the Great Khali! They now seem to be going the Andre route with Khali as his matches are now considered a special appearance, OK. Should still be interesting, as long as Undertaker’s not facing Batista or Rey at the Rumble, although I have a feeling he’ll face both. I predict both guys win their matches in the same amount of time, and we get a draw leading to a three way match. Let’s see how bad my predictions are. Read more…
