WWE RAW – September 19, 2011

Coming off a surprisingly good PPV, in terms of match quality, with some poor booking decisions it’s time for RAW. I guess we’ll hear from Triple H, who’ll continue to bury CM Punk, and John Cena, who once again miraculously overcame the odds last night to claim his 20th title or so. Does it even matter how many times he wins the belt anymore, seriously, he’s going to wind up in Lawler territory before his career is over. Let’s hope they can do something to salvage CM Punk after the debacle of last night. It’s pretty sad when the only person who truly got over in that match was HHH as he overcame Punk, Truth, Miz and Nash. Maybe we can get a match for tonight of Punk & HHH versus Miz & Truth, but instead it’ll probably be HHH beating both by himself. Well, let’s see what the WWE tries to do this week.

Monday Night RAW: The Hitman Comes Back

Monday Night RAW – February 1, 2010

Coming off what many are calling the best Royal Rumble ever, I think it was in the top three but not the best, we’re now officially on the road to Wrestlemania. Last night at the Royal Rumble Edge made a triumphant return and won the Rumble eliminating John Cena. In the match we also had Miz and MVP continue their rivalry, plus Shawn Michaels eliminated Triple H, but was later eliminated by Batista. This denied Shawn Michaels of his number one contender status he wanted so bad, and means he will not face Undertaker at Wrestlemania. Also last night Randy Orton lost his chance to win the title from Sheamus due to Cody Rhodes, this caused the viper to strike out at his team. Orton beat the daylights out of Cody and Ted DiBiase, have we reached the end of Legacy? Who will Edge choose to face at Wrestlemania? Can Triple H forgive Shawn for eliminating him? Where does this leave Shawn for Wrestlemania? What will happen tonight when Bret Hart confronts Vince McMahon about kicking him last month? What will William Shatner do tonight on RAW? Who will win the useless Diva’s title, Gail Kim or Maryse (Maryse)? All these questions may be answered tonight on Monday Night RAW!!! Read more…

Royal Rumble 2010: The Rated-R Royal Rumble

Royal Rumble 2010 – January 31, 2010

It’s hard to believe it’s been 22 years since the original Royal Rumble, which was from Hamilton, Ontario and aired on the USA Network not PPV. The Royal Rumble has always been my favorite PPV of the year, even over Wrestlemania, as anything can happen and we usual get some really good moments. Past winners of the Royal Rumble have included Big John Studd, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Chris Benoit, Shawn Michaels, Hulk Hogan and many more. The Royal Rumble used to be anyone can win match, but that was changed in 1993 when it became the winner goes to Wrestlemania. This was supposed to make the match more exciting, but personally that kind of ruined it for me. The reason is simple, before anyone could win; now it’s basically a core group of 5 or 6 that have a chance, and everyone else is basically fodder. The Rumble is not without its history though, as we’ve seen some amazing moments including the title win of Ric Flair, the debut of Giant Gonzales, and the returns of both Triple H and John Cena. Tonight at the Royal Rumble we have not only the 30 man classic, but four big title matches. Mickie James, the hottest diva ever, challenges the fire buzzard for the Women’s title. After months of torment from the buzzard and her little friend, tonight Mickie goes for redemption. The big man, Ezekiel Jackson challenges Captain Charisma Christian, for the ECW title. Can the massive Jackson topple the long reigning king of the land of extreme, or will Zeke fall from grace? Sheamus has run roughshod over the entire RAW roster since coming from ECW in October, and scored a huge win over John Cena for the title. Tonight Sheamus faces his toughest challenge, in the viper Randy Orton, in a rare battle between the two most hated men on RAW. Finally Undertaker faces the human mosquito, Rey Mysterio. Will Rey give the Undertaker malaria, or can the Dead Man squash Mysterio? All this tonight, live from Atlanta, GA! Let’s start the 2010 Royal Rumble! Read more…

Monday Night RAW: Weakest championship reign ending soon?

Monday Night RAW – January 25, 2010

After the debacle that was last week’s show, I am really hoping for something good this week. Also with the Royal Rumble this Sunday, I hope they can do a good job building to it. Last week, we saw the Undertaker decline the challenge of Shawn Michaels, and tell him if he wants Undertaker, he will have to win the Rumble. HHH said he is in the Rumble, along with Cena, and Big Show, among others. Hopefully we get a couple surprise entrants in the Rumble this year, but for now let’s get to RAW! Read more…

Monday Night RAW: Avoid this show at all costs!!!

Monday Night RAW – January 18, 2010

Welcome to a new week of recaps, this week’s Monday Night Raw is being hosted by the former star of Miami Vice and Nash Bridges, Don Johnson. Not sure I understand the reason behind him being guest host, but considering they have Jerry Springer hosting soon, there seems to be no rhyme or reason behind these hosts. Before I start the RAW recap, I just have to say, is 24 not the best show ever or what? The last two nights have been an amazing start to another great season, just hate the week long wait between episodes, but I digress. I also read that the WWE released Eric Escobar last week, was never a fan of the guy, but it’s too bad for him. It’s always sad to see anyone released, but worse when they’re young and will only be remembered for being Vickie’s boytoy. With all of that out of the way, let’s get to this week’s episode of RAW. Monday Night RAW: How Many Times Can We Make Jericho Look Like an Idiot?

Monday Night RAW – January 11, 2010

Well, after a chaotic day yesterday, finally have a chance to watch RAW for this week. Tonight’s guest host is Iron Mike Tyson, which should be interesting. Mike Tyson has been in WWE before, getting in a shoving match with Steve Austin and knocking out Shawn Michaels. We should have more on the continuing saga between Bret Hart and Vince McMahon, although reports are that Bret is not in the building tonight. Let’s get to RAW! Read more…

The Week in Review for January 4 – 8, 2010

The Week in Review for January 4 – 8, 2010

This week we had the first Monday Night showdown between WWE and TNA, a battle which TNA won with a much better show. A pretty average at best episode of ECW and Superstars and a very poor episode of Smackdown. Not a great week for the WWE as far as shows went, as for TNA I wish they had followed up Monday with another show on Thursday instead of taking the week off. I’m really curious to see where TNA goes with the Hulk Hogan stuff, much more so then with the Bret Hart stuff on RAW. Read more…

Monday Night RAW: RAW is Bret

WWE Monday Night RAW – January 4, 2010

Tonight we see the return of Bret Hart to the WWE, in what should be a great night. TNA had their big Monday night show as well, and it was amazing, so let’s see if WWE can come close to that.

We open RAW with the same Bret Hart video from last week’s RAW showing his various title wins, which then segues into the Survivor Series 1997 screw-job. Still amazed it’s been twelve years since that night, time sure does fly. We go live to the arena and Justin Roberts introduces this week’s guest host. Read more…

The Week in Review for December 28, 2009 – January 3, 2010

The Week in Review for December 28, 2009 – January 3, 2010

Well, we end 2009 with a four hour episode of Impact featuring the knockouts and one of the best show’s I’ve ever seen. The wait is almost over, as the biggest Monday night in wrestling since the Monday Night Wars is almost here. Let’s get the final week of 2009 finished! Read more…

WWE Monday Night RAW: Short Matches run rampant! And I don’t mean midgets!

WWE Monday Night RAW – December 28, 2009

With one week until TNA attempts a battle with the WWE, it looks like WWE is not going to hold anything back. The story of Bret Hart’s return leaked online before the holidays and now it’s official. Next Monday night should be one great night for TV and I really hope TNA can be competitive with the WWE, guess we shall wait and see. But before we get to that night, we have this week to get through, and tonight’s episode of RAW is hosted by some rapper I think, not sure who he is, not my genre of music, and the main event of Sheamus defending the title against John Cena. Should be an interesting show tonight, so let’s get it started! Read more…
