TNA Final Resolution – December 11, 2011

TNA presents their final PPV of 2011, Final Resolution, headlined by a rematch from last month of AJ Styles facing World Champion Robert Roode. This time it’s an Iron Man Match, which should be good. Also tonight we have more rematches from last month, as Robbie E faces Eric Young for the TV title, at least the title is being used. Jeff Hardy faces Jeff Jarrett again, but this time in the cage with special stipulations. If Hardy wins he gets the title shot next month, if Jarrett wins either he or Karen are fired. Hopefully it’s Karen, as I’m sick of her, she’s worse then Michael Cole and singlehandedly ruining the once promising Knockout Division. Speaking of Knockouts, Knockout Champion Gail Kim faces former champion, Mickie James tonight as well, Daniels meets RVD again tonight, and Crimson teams with Matt Morgan to defend the tag titles against D-Von and The Pope. It looks like a loaded card, although too many rematches, but should give us some moderately good matches. Hopefully this is better then Turning Point, which was a horrible show with a lot of bad matches and booking.

TNA Turning Point – November 13, 2011

It’s time for another TNA PPV, and yet another under promoted main event. Seriously, this main event was only announced in the last ten seconds of the most recent Impact! Not a good way to build interest in a PPV, although it is nice to see talent in the main event. Maybe this is a sign that the Hulk/Eric era has finally ended, as we get AJ Styles facing Robert Roode tonight. James Storm defeated Kurt Angle the night after Bound For Glory, in about a minute as Kurt was injured, and won the World Title. Robert Roode defeated Samoa Joe, of course who hasn’t defeated Joe this year, to become number on contender. Roode then defeated his friend and tag partner, James Storm, by nailing him with a beer bottle and taking the World Title, also ending the Beer Money tag team. On the last episode of Impact someone, Roode, attacked Storm backstage and left him a bloody mess. He still wanted to compete against Roode, and Roode was able to quickly roll him up for an easy win. This brought out AJ Styles, who challenged Roode, and Sting who’s now the GM of Impact approved it. So we basically got what could have been three months of storyline in only four weeks. I would have rather seen a slow turn for Roode, instead of this, but slow builds never work anymore, see Rock/Cena. Sting was named the GM after beating Hulk Hogan at Bound For Glory, so he makes the matches, but Eric Bischoff can still make matches, which begs the big question. Who the hell is in charge of this show? It’s as convoluted as the HHH/JL story on RAW, as we don’t know who is in charge there either. What ever happened to easy to follow storylines that make sense? So tonight we have Roode vs AJ, also Gail Kim, who just returned, gets a title match with Velvet Sky. Way to over push Gail Kim now, why not a slow build for her? Also tonight is a triple threat X-Division title match, a six person match for the tag titles and some other matches I forget, so let’s just see what TNA does to anger the Internet fans this week.

TNA Bound For Glory – October 16, 2011

Tonight TNA presents their version of Wrestlemania, and they even pulled the same stupid stunt WWE did. They moved a title match from the main show to the preshow, hopefully it won’t become a battle royal though. TNA decided the tag title match was not important as Kennedy versus Bully, and moved Hernandez & Anarquia versus Shannon Moore & Jesse Neal off the PPV. I’m glad someone posted the preshow up, so I can at least see this match, of course only one of the four are worth watching, Hernandez, but still it’s a title match. Also tonight we have more old people including Jerry Lynn, Kid Kash, and of course Sting and Hulk Hogan. Who seriously decided that seeing Sting versus Hulk Hogan in 2011 was a good idea anyway? Hulk has already said he won’t take bumps tonight, so what’s the point of the match. Even worse was Hulk’s comments a couple days ago knocking AJ Styles and Bobby Roode, yes the same Roode who is in the main event tonight, way to bury a guy who deserves a shot at the top. I’d be happy if this was the last we see of Kurt Angle for a while though, as TNA really needs to start to focus on the young talent and get rid of some of the veterans. Samoa Joe, Matt Morgan, Kaz, Abyss, Hernandez and Austin Aries should be the top six they use right now, instead of Kennedy, Bully, Kash, Angle, Lynn and RVD. Anyways, as far as the build up for this show, it’s been questionable as some matches were thrown together at the last minute, while some got a nice build. Roode and Angle has been built perfectly, but they also put themselves into a corner, if Roode doesn’t win tonight it means the last three months or so has been a waste of time. The Knockout match has been built good, as at least they did qualifier matches to get the Knockouts in the match, but I expect Velvet to walk out with the title tonight, probably leading to Velvet versus Karen Angle soon. Either way I’m looking forward to more of this show then those matches that I’m not interested in, which is a nice change. The only match I really have no interest in his the aforementioned Hogan versus Sting, which better be quick and over booked, as it’s the only way to salvage this disaster. Let’s hope Bound For Glory is better then the Wrestlemania was, which it stands a good chance of. Let’s cover the preshow match first.

TNA Impact – September 22, 2011

Well, since I can’t find Superstars yet, and I’m waiting for Smackdown, we’ll start with Impact. TNA has been pretty bad lately, which is sad considering the talent they have, they seem hell bent on pushing Sting, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, and other old guys. It’s too bad, because if they would push their young talent like AJ Styles, Matt Morgan, Samoa Joe, etc they would be able to give WWE a true run. Anyways, last week on Impact Sting defeated Ric Flair in one of the worst matches of 2011, right up there with Undertaker versus HHH from Wrestlemania. Just a battle of two old men who just can’t cut it anymore. This is supposed to lead to Sting versus Hulk Hogan at Bound For Glory. We could have a three way tie for worst match of 2011.

TNA Impact – May 3, 2010

 

It’s a new month for TNA and sadly tonight marks the final Monday Night Impact, as starting next week TNA moves back to Thursdays. It’s too bad as TNA has been the better show a majority of times so far, but unfortunately the WWE just kept them down. Personally I don’t understand why, WWE is such a weak and boring show, while TNA delivers good matches each week. I don’t remember the last WWE RAW or Smackdown that featured a great match. I do think the Knockouts have been horribly mistreated lately though, and I wish the Monday show had succeeded and maybe we would’ve gotten a Thursday show as well each week. Even just an hour long one for the Knockouts would’ve been good. The good thing is Wrestlicious finally returns next week with their seventh episode and I can’t wait. Tonight on TNA we have the return of Taylor Wilde & Sarita, and it’s been too damn long since we’ve seen them, also RVD defends the title and the debut of Orlando Jordan’s talk show with guest Rob Terry. Should be an interesting show tonight, let’s get to it.

TNA Impact – April 26, 2010

 

Before I start the Impact recap I just want to mention the WWE PPV and RAW quickly. The PPV wasn’t half bad, at least the right people won, which is more than I expected. It certainly didn’t go the way I expected as I figured Rey, HHH, and McCool were going to win. So, it was nice to see them go a different direction for once. As for RAW, the draft was basically the annual raping of Smackdown as RAW took the three best talents of Smackdown, Edge, Jericho, Morrison and moved them to RAW. How this benefits Morrison is beyond me, now he’s stuck behind Cena, HHH, Batista, Orton, Edge, Jericho, etc. He’s never going to get a real chance to shine at the top with all these names ahead of him. Meanwhile Smackdown gets Chavo, Hornswoggle, Kelly, and MVP, not exactly a fair trade off. I figured with the move to another network they’d make the show top heavy like Jillian Hall, but instead we got nothing, like McCool! I assumed Cena, Orton or even Hunter would wind up on Smackdown, at least till November or so, but the biggest names on Smackdown now is Undertaker, who only wrestles sporadically, Big Show, who’s been carried by Jericho and Miz for the last eight months and Swagger, who they still have not really gotten behind. As for the show itself, it felt long and boring, as most of the matches were not very good and I just can’t stand listening to Lawler anymore. Anyway, let’s get to Impact and see what TNA had to offer to counter the very long, drawn out, boring draft show.

TNA Impact –April 19, 2010

 

TNA is coming off what can only be called a mixed bag PPV, as we had some great moments along with some not so great moments. Kurt Angle and Ken Anderson had one of the greatest matches I’ve ever seen, I’d put that in my top five matches of all time list easily. AJ Styles was able to retain the gold in a very good match with D’Angelo Dinero, hope this isn’t the end of his push. Kaz won the X Title, which was vacated due to the absence of Douglas Williams, and Madison Rayne won the Knockout Title last night. That brings us to tonight, where the only match announced was the Beautiful People facing Daffney and a mystery partner. I assume the partner is none other than Tara, as she turned heel last night tossing Angelina into the cage, but I’m just happy to see Zombie Hot! With that, let’s get down to the Impact Zone.

TNA Lockdown – April 18, 2010

Well, I didn’t find a good quality version of the PPV, but at least it’s a copy of it. Tonight TNA presents Lockdown, with every match in the cage, including the X, Knockout, Knockout Tag and the World Title on the line. This should be a great show, and I’m curious what they do with the X title match, as Doug Williams is, much like the WWE RAW roster, stranded in Europe tonight. So let’s get to the show and see what happens.

TNA Impact – April 12, 2010

 

Last week on Impact we saw one of the dumbest ways to change a title since WCW did the 49’ers match years ago. We had eight girls in an elimination match, where the winner of each fall got a key to a lockbox. The four locked boxes contained an open contract, Poison the Tarantula, the Knockout Title, and being forced to do a striptease. Well, Tara lost her title but regained Poison, Velvet won the open contract, Daffney was to do a striptease and Angelina won the title. So, basically Tara gave up her title for her spider and Angelina wins a title by doing nothing. Way to devalue the title TNA, that title is almost as important as the WWF European title was. Daffney reluctantly started her striptease but unfortunately she was attacked by Lacey Von Erich who proceeded to disrobe. Angelina and Tara fought over the title as Velvet cashed in her contract and will face Angelina tonight, in a non title match. I’ll give TNA credit for giving the ladies so much time, about as much time as the WWE has given the divas all year combined, but this was a dumb way to change titles. After the ratings were broken down it showed the girls got the highest rated segments, which of course will mean we’re going to have more of the girls now. Not that I’m complaining about that, but I wish Daffney would’ve won the title, as I assume her feud with Tara is over. Also last week the nWo attacked Team 3D and the Motor City Machine Guns, ruining what was starting out as a good match. We also saw Ken Anderson beat Kurt Angle in a ladder match to gain control of the key which opens the lock of the cage door at Lockdown. Last week I said I hope the feud finally ends at Lockdown, and that’s not because I prefer the instant-feuds of the WWE. I enjoyed the long feud between Dreamer and Raven in ECW, but they kept it fresh by involving other people and it just didn’t feel like it dragged on, which Angle and Anderson’s feud is feeling like. I’ve always been a huge fan on Angle and always thought Anderson was going to be huge in WWE if he could’ve stayed injury free, they just need to spice up the feud with something. Anyways, let’s get down to the Impact Zone for this week’s Impact.

I must say I’m very interested in tonight’s episode of Impact; I’m looking forward to the First Blood match with Daffney and Tara. It should be a very good match, as well as the nWo facing Hardy, Van Dam & Eric Young. That’s just as long as X-Pac does the majority of the match for his team. With that, let’s get to Impact.
